A Word
of Welcome from Our
Campaign Chair Kelly McKone, '74
Welcome to the Proud of Our Past
– Committed to Our Future Campaign website! I hope you will take a few moments
to browse through and familiarize yourself with our historic capital campaign, now
in progress.
It has long been a dream of Sr. Raphael to make some much-needed capital improvements
to SSJ, along with providing additional space for our religious education program
which serves over 1,300 students in our surrounding community. The campaign
will have two phases; the first phase and primary focus will be to relocate the
existing administrative offices to the front of the school and construct a new two
story educational building where the existing 6th grade classrooms are located.
The second phase will provide for a brand new community center/gymnasium for the
entire school and parish community to use and enjoy.
I am honored to be assisting Sr. Raphael with this effort as the Campaign Chair
and am proud to report that we have reached our Phase One goal of $7,000,000.00.
We are now working on our 2nd phase of the campaign which has a goal
of $4,000,000.00. The support for this campaign has been overwhelming! Our visits
with school and parish families have been extremely rewarding and to witness the
generosity of our families has been a humbling experience, to say the least.
it has always been my feeling that the Ss. Simon & Jude community is a special
one. This campaign has served to reinforce what I have always believed. With the
help of our dedicated steering and major gifts committees, we are well on our way
to making these new buildings a reality. This campaign allows us to show our appreciation
for the educational experience we received at SSJ. Please join us as we say “yes”
to the Loreto Sisters to continue the legacy they created over 50 years ago for
many future generations.
Welcome, again, to this webiste! We are dedicated to keeping you informed with the
news of this historic campaign. Enjoy!
